Do you want to make a difference in the lives of low-income families in the Columbus, Ohio region? Do you want to be part of a dynamic and rewarding AmeriCorps Program?
Homeport Community Life’s AmeriCorps Program provides direct support to residents at Homeport’s Community Centers. Our members provide direct services to low to moderate income families within Homeport’s rental communities. Members placed at Homeport communities are responsible for the facilitation of Out-of-School Time Programming (OSTP) for children and other adult programming.
We are seeking members who have a desire to help others, the ability to work well with a diverse population, and the ability to multi-task. We need members who are highly organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to problem solve. This role will help provide our residents with stability in their communities, and your skills can make a positive impact on our resident’s lives.
We prefer candidates who have a bachelor’s degree, are at least 18 years of age and have reliable transportation. Additionally, candidates who are bilingual in Spanish or Somali are preferred.
Member Requirements:
- Complete 1700 hours (FT) of community service within a calendar year.
- Complete 170 Training Hours with the 1700.
